Just Thinkin'...

Centuries of propaganda have been at play to convince Christians their time, treasure and energy are best served focusing on missions to far away places, when Jesus actually said to "love our neighbors" & care for the "widows and orphans" in our own back yards.

I know and LOVE precious people who are 100% CALLED to do this, don't get me wrong. There are so many who would be absolutely devastated without those called ones being faithful to what they know in their souls God is asking them to do - and risking everything to just show up to be His hands and feet (and heart!). It's 100% a unique and NECESSARY calling!

What I'm saying is that writing a check to support THEM - because it's imperative that we DO actively support their work - does not replace or negate OUR calling to be the hands and feet of Christ in our own neighborhood, to our ACTUAL neighbors.

It seems this simple shift of focus would change the world, kinda like He said we should. I think - in some ways - we may have missed the plot here.
